Stephanie Bowman is a freelance artist and educator whose focus is to help environmentally focused individuals, businesses, and organizations meet their visual communication and/or educational outreach goals.

As a illustrator and mural artist, Stephanie creates visually arresting images that lead the viewer to take a closer, more thoughtful look.

The visual communication issues of Stephanie's clients are actually her inspiration for creating such strikingly fresh concepts. By meeting each client's specific needs, a new, intriguing image is created.

Stephanie's innate organizational skills, coupled with years spent teaching, allow her to consistently meet client deadlines.

She uses a variety of media to create murals, works on canvas, plaster, etc. involving natural subjects with a surreal edge.

Stephanie Bowman graduated cum laude from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia in 1992 with a B.S. in Art, a license to teach, and a continuing passion for biology and art.

She taught high school art classes and created many commissioned artworks in Virginia for several years, before moving to Arizona in 2001. There, Stephanie designed and taught hands-on elementary science and art classes that took her students out into the desert around them. She most recently spent three years as a high school biology teacher in Vail School District.

In addition to her commissioned artwork, Stephanie now creates and teaches freelance "Science through Art" outreach lessons for conservation-focused groups. She is also currently writing and illustrating a series of children's educational books in order to raise money and awareness of various endangered and misunderstood animals around the world.

In 2005, Stephanie illustrated the book The Tortoise and the Hare: A Tale Retold by Kristina and Mike Dawson, published by Shamu Press, Tucson AZ.

Stephanie was awarded a scholarship to study at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum Art Institute.
